It has been discovered that the Titanic accident resulted from a number of little things that added up. According to a survivor, that night was especially dark with little moon light. Furthermore, the person in charge of watching for danger at night was not wearing his glasses. All these conditions were bad enough, but worse was to come. When warnings were finally issued, nearly half of the passengers did not come on the deck because people had confidence in the ship. The ship had been praised for its strength and security by the news magazines back then. So, when passengers were told to leave the ship on lifeboats, many didn't feel the need to leave the "unsinkable" ship. Due to such ignorance, 473 lifeboat seats remained empty and more than 1,500 people drowned.
